Mama and Baby Camping!

Mama and I had a big adventure last week. While Daddy was stuck at home with the pager, we went to Lake Kegonsa State Park and went camping with some of our friends. This was our campsite:

Jen picked a great one that was nice and shady, so I didn't even have to wear my hat (she and her daughter had gone camping a few times before, so they were pros!). One of the first things we did at the campsite was line up by my friend, Katy, while she handed out watermelon to all us kids. Yum!

This is my friend, Edie. She likes to give me hugs.

Even when camping, it's important to always have a good book or two in hand.

There were lots of tot-sized chairs around camp, and I loved getting in and out of them. This was one of my favorites!

After only an half-hour or so, I was ready to leave Mama behind and go exploring. My friend, Nico, and I had a good time pulling this chair around the campsite.

When it was mealtime, I got into my travel highchair. We had such good food! Camping really helps you work up an appetite!

After dinner my friends and I played for a few hours. We got really dirty- so much fun! Sticks, bugs, caterpillars, leaves, logs, rocks...we barely needed the toys we brought with because there was so much fun stuff to play with just laying on the ground!

I perfected my climbing skills while camping (I was inspired by my Nico friend, who can climb UP and DOWN from the picnic table benches ALL BY HIMSELF!). This log was another great place to sit.

The mamas did a lot of "washing" while we camped, because us kids got really dirty playing on the ground. Mama tried to stay ahead of the dirt with lots of outfit changes for me, but that didn't really work. The mamas had this cool hand sanitizer stuff that they squirted all over us to keep us "clean." I reciprocated by "helping" Katy sanitize her legs.

This was another cool chair....it was a little tippy when I tried to stand on it, though, so I had to be careful!

Camping is so much fun, it makes me giggle!

Having three friends to play with all night long was great! This is a picture of me giving my Irene friend a hug.

After all the excitement and running around I did, Mama thought I would be really tired when it was bedtime. I wasn't. It took her two hours to get me to sleep, so she took a picture before she left the tent to have campfire time with the other mamas. I fooled her, though- I woke up at 3 am, and was so excited to wake up in the tent that I had to get up and play for two hours before I could fall asleep again. Boy, I love camping!

This is a picture of me getting out of the tent in the morning, ready for another day of fun!

Mama liked the way the morning sunbeams shone down on me in this picture.

The mamas did a lot of "tag-teaming" to keep all us kiddos safe at the campsite. This is my Katy friend keeping me out of trouble while Nico gives her a hug (there was a lot of hugging while camping!).

Another chair picture...have I mentioned that I LOVE having chairs around that were just my size?

Edie and I wanted to explore after breakfast, so I showed her my cool orange tent.

This is Nico's chair-it had cars on it! Nico speaks Spanish, so he calls them "autos." I think it might be his favorite word.

We took a walk to the park were there were lots of slides and climbers and big kids playing. All I wanted to do was swing, though. The other mamas thought that was pretty funny, but I know a good thing when I see it.

This is me taking my nap...I went down without a fuss, and even slept for 1.5 hours!

This is a picture of me leading Edie on another adventure.

Now here are my favorite pictures...before Mama and I went home, Jen's friend Jennifer came to visit with her dog, Harley. Boy, do I love him! I petted him (with a shovel), kissed him, played with his feet, sat on him, danced my baby doll on his back, laid on him...every kind of playing you can imagine, and he just grinned and wagged his tail. I hope Mama paid attention to how much I loved the puppy and how good I was at playing with him...maybe Daddy will get me a puppy for Christmas?

All good things must end, though, so Mama and I went home before it got dark and had a bath before dinner. It was great to see Daddy and tell him all about our adventures. I can't wait to go camping again!

A Vist from Grandma!

A few weeks ago I had a really fun day with Grandma!  I wasn't feeling great because my teeth hurt so it was just the thing to cheer me up!  She had lots of good stories and games to play!

Then we had even more fun when uncle G and his friend Kristen came over and we had yummy food!

And then after dinner Grandma impressed old uncle G when tossing the frisbee forehand!

Hangin' with the giraffes at the zoo

My Mama and I went to the zoo the other day with our friends Jen and Edie. It was fun! I got to ride the carousel for the first time...Jen tried to take a picture, which was really funny because we were going up and down and so were they!

We got up close and personal with the giraffes.

This is Jen and Edie, with the beautiful carousel behind them.

The zoo has a new, cool playground with lots of fun climbing toys. I liked the tunnels a lot, but Edie and I new that the best part was actually the wood chips. SO MUCH FUN!

At the Dreampark with Zoey!

Mama and I went to the Dreampark with our friends Zoey and Sara. At first I was a little nervous about the dragon at the entrance, but Mama sang "Puff" to me and I remembered that not all dragons are mean. Then I wasn't scared any more.

Mama wanted to wait for our friends to arrive, so I took off to explore the park on my own. I can do that because I am a big kid.

A little bunny was living in the park, and he seemed to have fun running back and forth across the grounds. He was so cute!

I love to swing, and this park had some of the coolest big kid swings I have ever seen. I hung out in them for a long time, just taking in the view.

There are were lots of fun buildings and towers in the park, and lots of places to sit down and rest, too.

Zoey and I got a good workout climbing up all the stairs...stairs that led to mirrors, stairs that led to secret rooms and tunnels, and stairs that led to a slide (those were our favorite stairs to climb!).

Zoey and I had so much fun exploring the park together. I can't wait to do it again!

A very developed fashion sense...and some corn.

Mama let me pick out my own clothes today. I think I did a really great job! I don't know why people think you need two of the same shoe...it's much more fun to have two different styles, plus it makes walking very interesting if they are different sizes, too!

We decided to have corn for dinner, so Pongo and I helped Daddy shuck it. Daddy said I was more helpful than Pongo. Corn is Pongo's favorite food. At least I only tried to eat the raw corn, and not the husks like a certain kitty I know.

Splash Park!

Last weekend we took a family trip to the Splash Park- so much fun! Here's a pic of Daddy and I deciding what to do first:

And some of us playing in the water:
